As the world turns its attention to the World Cup, we will stand together to say that Iran’s national identity must not be defined by the symbols of a regime that has suppressed, imprisoned, executed, and silenced its own people.

We are gathering to raise the Lion and Sun flag as a symbol of Iran’s history, dignity, freedom, and the true voice of the Iranian people.

This is a peaceful public gathering to show that Iranians in New Zealand reject the regime’s flag as the symbol of our nation. We want the world to see the flag that represents us: the Lion and Sun.
