Auckland Rally – Mt Eden War Memorial – 11 Mar 2026

On 11 March 2026, members of the Iranian community and supporters of freedom gathered at the Mt Eden War Memorial in Auckland to stand in solidarity with the people of Iran.

This rally was part of our ongoing effort to keep the voices of Iranians visible in New Zealand and to draw attention to the continuing human rights crisis under the Islamic Republic. Participants came together to condemn state violence, executions, repression, censorship, and the silencing of peaceful dissent.

The choice of the Mt Eden War Memorial created a meaningful setting for reflection, remembrance, and collective action. Together, we honoured the courage of those who continue to resist oppression in Iran and reaffirmed our commitment to supporting a free, democratic, and secular Iran.

Through public gatherings like this, the Iranian Community of New Zealand continues to raise awareness, build solidarity, and remind the wider public that the struggle of the Iranian people must not be forgotten.
