Auckland Freedom March for Iran — Commercial Bay to Myers Park – 14 Feb 2026

Auckland Freedom March for Iran was one of the first major public demonstrations organised by the Iranian community in New Zealand in response to the ongoing crisis in Iran.

The march began at Commercial Bay and continued through central Auckland to Myers Park, bringing together approximately 4,700 people, including Iranians, New Zealanders, and supporters of freedom, democracy, and human rights.

As one of our earliest and largest public actions, this march marked an important moment for the Iranian community in Auckland. It created a powerful visible presence in the heart of the city, amplified the voices of people inside Iran, and called for international attention to state violence, executions, censorship, internet shutdowns, and the wider human rights crisis under the Islamic Republic.

Together, we marched to honour the courage of the Iranian people, remember those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom, and stand in solidarity with everyone fighting for a free and democratic Iran.
