DESCRIPTION:Auckland Freedom March for Iran was a public demonstration organised by the Iranian community in New Zealand in response to the ongoing crisis in Iran. \nThe march began at Commercial Bay and continued through central Auckland toward the Viaduct\, bringing together Iranians\, New Zealanders\, and supporters of freedom\, democracy\, and human rights. \nThis march created a strong visible presence in the heart of Auckland\, amplifying the voices of people inside Iran and calling for international attention to state violence\, executions\, censorship\, internet shutdowns\, and the wider human rights crisis under the Islamic Republic. \nTogether\, we marched to honour the courage of the Iranian people\, remember those who have lost their lives in the struggle for freedom\, and stand in solidarity with everyone fighting for a free and democratic Iran.

DESCRIPTION:Today\, 16 May\, Iranian New Zealanders and supporters of freedom gathered in Wellington and Auckland as part of the National Lion and Sun Call to raise their voices against executions\, internet shutdowns\, and the escalating repression in Iran.\nWhile much of the world’s attention remains focused on oil prices and regional geopolitics\, millions of people inside Iran continue to suffer under censorship\, fear\, arbitrary arrests\, and state violence. \nWe gathered to remind New Zealand and the international community that behind every headline are real people fighting for their freedom. Until the voices of the Iranian people can be heard freely\, we will continue to stand with them and be their voice.
